The view from Cressingham Gardens
Contains drawings and photographs
of the Cressingham Gardens Estate
and the Boreraig cleared village on the Isle of skye.
The text is of two poems comparing
and contrasting these two places.
The photographs are by Kathryn Round
and John Bently and the drawings
are by John and Arthur Bently.
(Arthur’s are generally the better ones…).
Some of the drawings are of Arthur and his pals
making hand made instruments,
puppets and cardboard models of
Cressingham in order to perform at the two
fundraisiing benefits we have been
involved with to raise money for the
Save Cressingham fund.
This book is a memorial to
both those unforgettable events….
The first one, at Herne Hill Station Hall
last November, also featured
Kurdish Superstar Nawros Oramari,
the amazing Bird Radio a
nd the‘interesting’ bonesandtheaft. T
hey were devised and organised
by the indefatigable Ken Jones….
Well done Ken!
The second Happening in the
Cressingham Rotunda in
May featured Hippertronics, Delta Violin
and Black Rice alongside the
Ashley’s Fit Up puppet show,
and was the official launch point of this book,
all proceeds from which (after costs), were donated
to the fund to save
Cressingham Gardens Estate……..
There are twenty copies left
